Genomic sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 in Rwanda. Project outcome: SARS-CoV-2 genome sequencing reported for the 1st time lineage diversity in the country. The study showed a shift (in time) in variant distribution towards the then newly emerging sub-lineage A.23.1. It also allowed detection of the first Rwandan cases of the B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 which were variants of concern, among incoming travelers tested at Kigali International Airport
